Terms and Conditions
1. No person will be able to enter the water and begin their lesson unless a payment has been provided.
2. All children attending swimming lessons remain under their Parent/Guardians responsibility and supervision at all times. This includes the changing room areas, poolside and within the school grounds.
3. With the above in mind, under no circumstances should a Parent/Guardian leave the school grounds whilst a child is in their lesson.
4. For Health and Safety reasons the teacher’s word is final.
5. No person should enter onto poolside without a member of staff being present.
6. No person may enter the water until instructed to do so by a member of staff.
7. Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times. All long hair MUST be tied back at all times.
8. No outdoor shoes are to be worn on poolside. No push chairs on poolside.
9. No food or drink is to be consumed on poolside. Swimmers can use a plastic water bottle poolside.
10. All staff reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a person to leave a class if the person’s behaviour is excessively rude, dangerous or disruptive to the class.
11. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to any personal belongings brought to the swimming pool by either a swimmer or persons accompanying them.
12. We reserve the right to cancel lessons without notice and without liability to swim school where the pool is unfit for use or where the pool becomes unavailable for use.
13. Any cancellation to swimming will be notified by email and text to the address/number specified at time of booking. It is your responsibility to notify us of any changes.
14. As a swim school looking to continually improve our standards of teaching we may on occasion photograph or film lessons. This will be for teaching analysis only and will not be used, downloaded or played for any other reason other than staff training. A Little Wave Swim School Photography and filming consent form to obtain the parents and child's permission.
15. We also on occasion photograph or film lessons for publicity purposes. These pictures or videos are used to publicise our swimming lessons on social media, our website, the internet as well as flyers, posters or leaflets. A Little Wave Swim School Photography and filming consent form will be used to obtain the parents and child's permission.
16. Our swimming teachers instruct the non-swimmers, beginners and early improver’s from the water. Due to this, manual support is sometimes needed to guide, teach and keep swimmers safe. All support will always be carried out in an open manner and wherever possible hands will be in sight and above the water surface.
17. Current or recent illness including respiratory problems, infections, digestive upsets and rashes are indications against participation in swimming lessons. Anyone wishing to swim should be clear of symptoms for 48 hours prior to swimming
18. Any person with a recent history of diarrhoea or sickness will not be permitted to swim.
19. Where a swimmer has epilepsy which is controlled by medication and has been completely free from seizures for at least one year, no special precautions are necessary for our swimming lessons. Swimmers with uncontrolled epilepsy should seek their GP's approval before starting lessons.
20. Full copies of our policies including our Safeguarding Policy, Health and Safety Policy, PSOPs, Risk Assessments, GDPR and Photography and Filming Policy plus our insurance documents can be obtained by making a request:
21. GDPR. We only store your information to enable us to contact you about your children’s swimming lessons. We do not pass your information on to anyone else. Please note that if you do not accept our GDPR policy your child will not be able to swim with us as the information we hold for you is vital the swim school running.
